Nothing prepares anthology El Dorado

Jorge Etcheverry

El Dorado Cultural Workshop celebrates thirteen years of existence with an anthology of poetry and prose in Castilian, fruit and witness to the activity of promotion, preservation and creation of culture, mostly Hispanic, but also other languages, that the workshop has made in recent years. One of the highlights of the task of the workshop are four Boreal symposia, literary conferences that focused on the Chilean Literature in Canada, the Latino-Canadian literature, English literature and the Canadian mosaic, and finally the last (so far) in the figure of Gonzalo Millán, exiled Chilean poet who produced and published his most important work in Canada. The texts of the first two meetings were published as special issues of the journal Boreal, published jointly by Split / Quotation and Verbum Veritas. But the Golden Cultural Workshop considered the central task series of readings of poetry and prose that has held monthly at various locations in the national capital of Canada. These sessions, primarily in Castilian, but that there have been such poets writing in Urdu, French, Creole, English, Italian, Russian, Portuguese, are structured around guest authors, open microphones and the occasional musical performance. Now back to this anthology, this book brings together most of the authors who have been special guests over the years. Volume of about 250 pages, is in Castilian, language you are translating the texts of the authors castellanógrafos. The editors and publishers of this anthology, and in some cases texts into Castilian translators are poets and Chilean Luciano Díaz Porras Jorge Etcheverry Arcaya. This book, whose appearance is planned for late April, is a joint publication of the editorial Split / Quotation and Verbum Veritas, both based in Ottawa, Canada. This anthology is a sample of what is perhaps the only cultural activity inter / multicultural newspaper in the city of Ottawa. Without municipal cooperation or funders of the arts in Canada, the Cultural Workshop El Dorado is maintained by the work of its organizers, the enthusiasm of the local writing community, national and international who attended, and targeted support for certain events in Ottawa / Gatineau National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and the University of Ottawa. A product that reflects the history of El Dorado and a sample of poets and writers not only Chileans or Latino and not just in Canada, the workshop has been submitted or published, this book will be circulating in the market for spring.
